Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Huashan Mountain with a cable ride along the West Peak

Huashan Mountain, located near the city of Huayin, Weinan, Shaanxi Province, is one of the five great mountains of China and has been accredited as one of the AAAAA-class scenic spots in the country. It is also one of the hottest tourist sites in Shaanxi Province, attracting 120,000 tourists during the seven-day spring holiday of 2018 alone.

One of the main peaks of Huashan Mountain, the West Peak sitting 2082 meters above the sea level is the most beautiful and precipitous.

The West Peak cableway is by far the world’s first single-line circulating demountable cableway that was made possible by building a cavern room on a cliff. The cableway is undulating, with an intermediate station set up in the middle way. The cableway equipment was imported from Poma, a French company. The overall safety and operation system as well as the full-range digital automation control system are of world-class standard. The entire cableway runs a total length of 4,211 meters, with a relative height difference of 894 meters. The maximum operating speed is six meters per second and the one-way traffic volume stands at 1,500 persons per hour.

By taking the West Peak cableway, one can reach the main Peak of Huashan Mountain in about 20 minutes and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the East, West, South, North and Central Peaks.

The West Peak cableway was put into operation in April 2013 and has received more than 11 million visitors by far.
