​Shaanxi 1st Hot Spring Tourism Season opens at Huaqing Palace

On February 3, "Shaanxi 1st Hot Spring Tourism Season" opened at Huaqing Palace, Lintong. Gao Zhongying, Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Development Commission and other guests attended the opening ceremony.

Shaanxi, rich in hot spring resources, is one of the Chinese provinces richest in geothermal resources, as well as a cradle of world hot spring culture. Shaanxi's tourism areas mainly engaged in hot spring tourism include Huaqing Palace Tourism Area, Tangyu Tourism Resort, Taibai Mountain Tourism Area, Qujiang Lintong Tourism Resort, etc. Shaanxi has a total of 157 hot spring enterprises, including 60 tourism resorts, 59 hotels, 23 sanatoriums, as well as 15 entertainment places and swimming pools. In 2017, Shaanxi received nearly 10 million hot spring consumers. Hot spring health preservation has become a new highlight of quality tourism.

Huaqing Palace Tourism Area boasts thousands of years of history of hot spring use, key state-protected cultural sites including Tang Imperial Hot Spring Site Museum, as well as cultural products including A Song of Everlasting Sorrow and The Incredible Everlasting Temple.
