Global Chinese' New Year Prayers of 2018 held in Yellow Emperor’s Mausoleum

On the evening of December 31, 2017, the representatives of overseas Chinese from more than 20 countries gathered in the Sanctuary of Yellow Emperor as the First Chinese Ancestor, to join hands with the representatives from all walks of life in China for the activity "Pay Our Respect to Our Ancestor and Pray for the Prosperity of China -- 2018 Global Chinese’ New Year Prayers".

At 0:00 on January 1, 2018, in the audience's countdown call, the ceremony came to the climax of the event ---- "Tolling the Bell for Blessing". The representatives from all walks of life rang the first bell of China, namely, the Bell of Yellow Emperor. They rang it for 54 times, meaning happiness and good fortune.

With the continuous tolling of the bell for blessing, the Chinese representatives from the world and people from all walks of life in China walked together on the happiness blanket, wrote the Chinese character “Fu (Good Fortune)”, or rang blessing bells, to spread together the blessing given by the Yellow Emperor to the whole world, and wish for world peace and the happiness and well-being of the peoples.

Yellow Emperor’s Mausoleum is the mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor, the ancestor of the Chinese nation. It is a sacred site jointly honored and admired by the descendants of the Chinese both home and abroad. It is located on the Qiaoshan Mountain in the north of Huangling County in southern Yan'an City of Shaanxi Province.

The fiesta for Yellow Emperor (Fiesta at Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum) held annually during the Qingming Festival has been included into the first list of National-leveled Intangible Cultural Heritages since 2006. In 2014, Yellow Emperor’s Mausoleum was included into the projects for declaration of World Cultural Heritage.

Yellow Emperor’ Mausoleum Scenic Area is a national AAAAA tourist attraction.
