50 terra-cotta warriors land in London, Shaanxi tourism promotion attracts wide attention

On November 6 and 7, 2017, two shows of "A Step into the Past" were staged in London. Led by Emperor Qinshihuang and the imperial concubine, 50 performers in the amour of terra-cotta warriors and the costume of palace maids presented two impressive "quick flash" shows at ExCel London and around the London Eye, a landmark of the Southbank Centre.

On the occasion of the global tourism event-World Travel Market London, Shaanxi tourism was presented vividly to British people and global tourism professionals, to establish the brand image of "Knowing China Starts from knowing Shaanxi" and promote China-western cultural exchanges. 

Shaanxi Tourism Promotion held in London on November 7, 2017 brought together a galaxy of guests, attracting nearly 100 travel agencies, retailers and tourism institutions, as well as more than 10 mainstream media outlets, including Britain's largest travel agency Shearings Holidays, largest tourism publication Travel Weekly, largest news media outlet The Daily Telegraph and Association of British Travel Agents. Gao Zhongyin, Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Development Commission delivered an address under the theme of "Knowing China Starts from Knowing Shaanxi".

Britain has been a key source of inbound tourists for Shaanxi. In 2016, more than 140,000 British tourists traveled in Shaanxi, making Britain Shaanxi's third largest source of inbound tourists. In the same year, Britain established a visa center in Shaanxi for the great convenience of Shaanxi's tourists traveling in Britain. Tianjin Airlines is about to launch a non-stop route from Xi'an to London, which will further promote the tourism, culture and business exchanges between Xi'an and London.
