Director of Freer Gallery and Sackler Gallery visits Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum

On April 26, Julian Raby, Director of Freer Gallery and Sackler Gallery, led a 15-member delegation comprising the board directors and staff of the gallery to Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum (EQMSM). Curator Hou Ningbin, Deputy Curator Tian Jing and other executives of EQMSM received the delegation.

Located in Washington, capital of the U.S., Freer Gallery and Sackler Gallery is an art gallery under the Smithsonian Institution (SI). In February 2017, SI signed an MOU with EQMSM. The cooperation marks the first digital resources cooperation between a Chinese museum and a U.S. museum. In accordance with the National Standards for Social Studies: A Framework for Teaching, Learning and Assessment, the Common Core Art Standards, the Common Core State Standards and the History Curriculum Standards, EQMSM's digital resources will be popularized and disseminated at all stages of K-12 (primary and secondary education) in the U.S. The cooperation will not only enable U.S. primary and secondary school students and teachers to make better use of museum digital resources, but also expand the influence of Qin culture and EQMSM in the U.S.
