Fragrance Sachet Show Held at Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum on Dragon Boat Festival

On the morning of June 18, Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum marked the Dragon Boat Festival with a themed activity titled “Qin Artisans’ Workshop – Fragrance Sachet Show”. The event attracted nearly 300 participants throughout the day.

Dragon Boat Festival is one of four major traditional festivals of China, with the other three being Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival. This festival is highly popular in China and other Chinese circles around the globe. In September 2009, China’s Dragon Boat Festival, formally reviewed and approved by UNESCO, was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, becoming the first Chinese festival ever selected as a world intangible cultural heritage.

Wearing sachets filled with fragrances is a traditional custom on the Dragon Boat Festival. A handmade sachet is considered even more memorable. In this backdrop, making fragrance sachets by hand and allowing each participant to own a personal Chinese zodiac sachet was the most exciting part of the event.
